📖 Our History:

Baidu launched the ERNIE series in 2019 as a response to BERT and GPT. With each generation, the model grew from ERNIE 1.0 through ERNIE 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 to the current ERNIE 5.0/5.1. In 2025, ERNIE 5.0 was launched as one of the first unified multimodal models with 2.4 trillion parameters, and in 2026, ERNIE 5.1 reached the top of the LMArena Text Leaderboards.
